Assignment 6: Midterm Project Ideas

I have two ideas for my midterm project. One of them I know 100% I can figure out how to do. It is going to be flowers (made out of wire or clay or something else.. not sure yet) that reacts when someone walks closer to them. When someone walks closer, bright lights and pretty sounds (not the annoying ones we did if possible) go on. When someone gets further away, the lights dim/ turn off (depending on how far you are) and very soft sad sounding noises go on. My other idea is something that would actually be super useful for me. I am a dancer and I study ballet. While at the ballet barre, it is very important to keep yourself balanced and steady. I was thinking inside a box I could make a balance checker. I was hoping there is some sort of bit that can sense movement. So if it doesn't detect movement and your balance is steady, green lights will flash. If there is slight movement, yellow lights will flash. If there is a lot of movement, red lights will flash. This will help with balance and dance technique.
